10 Ratings Blurbs 6/5/12 Edition

Next week should be better. There are a lot of cable shows beginning and coming to an end this week that I can talk about.

1. America’s Next Top Model (1.42 million 0.6)- This show is pretty much going to swap timeslots with Supernatural next season. I don’t see a Friday revival for this show though nor do I expect it to live beyond next May.

2. Total Blackout (1.009 million 0.4)- For a few weeks this show was looking like this was going to get renewed then it fell back in the last couple of weeks. I think Syfy might take a little bit of time to make a decision on this one.

3. Don’t Be Tardy for the Wedding (2.026 million 0.9)- I said that at 1.3 million this show wasn’t a flop. This is a huge jump for the show and even if it slips a little for the finale, Bravo can’t and won’t ignore how well this show has done for them.

4. Game of Thrones (4.202 million 2.2)- This show ends its season on a high note and it’s kept the Sunday 9pm timeslot throne nice and toasty for True Blood when it makes its return this Sunday.

5. MTV Movie Awards (3.199 million 1.4)- This is down quite a bit from last season but I suppose this is what happens when MTV turns this into the Teen Choice Awards for Movies. You can only go so far when adults know that something has a strong teen stench to it.

6. Hell’s Kitchen (5.46 million 2.4)- This is a little bit below where it was last season but if I recall correctly this is a show that doesn’t really have huge ratings fluctuations and anything above 2.0 in the demo is good in the summer.

7. Teen Wolf (Sunday: 2.109 million 0.8; Monday: 1.746 million 0.6)- Some people are a little worried about this show but given how bad MTV has performed this spring this isn’t bad at all. Hopefully it stays steady over the course of the season.

8. The Killing (1.669 million 0.5)- This show went through a stretch where it had a few really horrible weeks. This recovery helps a little but in no way is this show a lock for season 3.

9. Real Housewives of NYC (1.660 million 0.8)- This is a bit below average for a Real Housewives premiere and getting beat by Kim Zolciak’s show throws salt on the wound too. Still these ratings aren’t disastrous so it will need to be watched but it needs to improve too.

10. Tanisha Gets Married (334,000 0.1)- After 4 episodes these ratings are bad, they seriously are bad and it’s doing worse than any episode of Love Games have ever done. Keep in mind that the most recent show that Oxygen renewed (Best Ink) had an average of 445,000 viewers and this episode is now below that.
