Stuff About TV, Ratings and Football

The NFL Draft is tonight and I won't be watching because I refuse to sit through looking at ugly dudes in cheap suits, ESPN analysts stanning and Giants and Jets fans booing for 3 straight hours only to see the Bears pick a guy they don't need and will cut come September. I will say that Detroit Lions fans need to get all the support they can get because the Madden Curse is real.

The Things I See at Walmart

Just to make things perfectly clear I am not a fan of Walmart and I’m pretty sure I never will be a fan of Walmart (Target >>>>>>> Walmart). Walmart’s greatness is exaggerated and to this day I’m still not quite sure why people love it so much.

The Celebrity List Scale

You will notice that I will say things about people and their celebrity status. We all know some people are more famous than others and some people are not truly famous at all even if they do happen to end up on a TV show. I’m here to sort all that out.

The Succubus Known as Corporate America

Corporate America is a succubus and that’s the truth. Anyone who disagrees either gets paid so well that they overlook it or they have never held an office job before (People in retail, I weep for you too). In all honesty it drains your soul. It chews you up and spits you out and by the time you make it to retirement will you realize that the business consumed every part of your life and you don’t have too much to show for it.

Random Thoughts: Five for Friday

It’s Friday and I’m not really keen on too many things today. After a long week of foolishness 5 things bother me immensely.

The Epidemic of Thirst

Thirst. If you haven’t noticed it’s at al all time high these days. It’s more prevalent among men but women aren’t immune either. It affects your family, it affects your friends, it affects your neighbors, it affects your coworkers and chances are you have encountered it too.

Sadly there is no cure for thirst nor is there any way to contain it, (maybe interventions but do those ever work?) but there are warning signs so you can tell if you or someone you know is being thirsty.

When People Claim They Have Reality Shows But Don't

You hear this every day. Tons of people from the F-List to the Negative Z-List and below (yes there’s a level below Negative Z-List too. They live on Facebook and Twitter if you don’t know where they are) claim they have reality shows. It’s probably also crossed your mind that months later you look up and realize there’s still no show on TV. I never ask myself this question because after 6 years of analyzing the ins and outs of reality television I know better.

What’s So Good About Facebook?

I find I ask myself this question at least once a day now. I’m a Facebook holdout. I’ve never had a page and when I see other people using it I wonder how they understand it because it might as well be set up in a different language. I like to be able to lurk on things and it doesn’t look like I can lurk on Facebook. So I ask, what’s so good about it?

The Reality of Reality TV

Most people have enough sense to know that reality TV isn’t real. But does anyone ever take the time to think about why it’s fake? Seems simple enough that reality TV can just “go back” to being real but it’s not all that easy and I’ll tell you why.

I used to watch reality TV. I used to watch a lot of reality TV but I can’t anymore. The reason being is that the fakeness is so contrived and lazily slapped together that I can no longer overlook the holes, mistakes and cloned storylines to just take it as the entertainment it’s supposed to be. With that being said know this isn’t directed at just one show. It’s directed at many shows (Hence the reason why I chose not to put a picture at the top of this post).

10 Cable Show Renewal Chances: April 2012

I’m a ratings junkie. I don’t watch any TV shows anymore but ask me about nearly any broadcast or cable show and I can tell you if there’s a chance the show comes back or not.

While many sites evaluate the renewal chances for broadcast shows, not many do it for cable shows and especially not reality shows. I’ve decided to take 10 cable reality shows currently airing that have not already been renewed and I will give my predictions. My niche as always been VH1 reality shows so that’s why more of them appear on this list but as things go along I’m always open to suggestions of other shows.

20 Non-Educational Things I Learned From Kindergarten

School. I never liked it and I don’t miss it so I found 100 things that stuck with me that didn’t involve actually learning anything. The first 20 is about Kindergarten because that's as far back as I can remember.

First Post

Getting started here. Things will be under construction for a little while as I work on getting things set up here.
