10 Ratings Blurbs 6/19/12 Edition

Lots of premieres and finales means there are a lot of different shows I can talk about this week (good because I felt like I was talking about the same shows for a minute).

1. Teen Mom (Premiere: 3.249 million 1.8; Episode 2: 3.074 million 1.7)- Though this is a little bit softer than last season’s ratings it does prove that it does have a faithful audience and it also highlights the MTV’s regular viewers were simply turned off by their other offerings this spring. However this only one show so it’s not safe to say that MTV’s recent ratings woes are now gone.

2. America’s Best Dance Crew (1.145 million 0.5)- This is definitely the lowest rated ABDC finale ever and MTV has a backlog of similarly rated shows that need to be decided upon. Hopefully they don’t drag those decisions out for months like they have with Beavis and Butthead (MTV still hasn't made a decision on that. The clock is ticking).

3. The Pauly D Project (1.033 million 0.5)- After 12 episodes this show limps off into the sunset. It might be a little while before MTV makes a decision but I would not be surprised if it doesn’t come back (I also wouldn’t be very surprised if it does come back but that depends on the success or failure of the Snooki & JWoww spinoff).

4. Don’t Be Tardy For The Wedding (2.347 million 1.0)- I think Bravo asks for another season of this show (with a name change of course). The ratings for this episode have surpassed the most recent episodes of The Real Housewives of Orange County (6/12- 1.771 million) and The Real Housewives of New York (6/18- 1.390 million). Don’t be fooled, Bravo will not pass up numbers like these nor will they fire Kim Zolciak even if she can’t pay her rent.

5. The Killing (1.448 million 0.5)- This show didn’t see a boost for its finale and now the show is in limbo. There is absolutely no guarantee that this show will come back but it may not be 100% dead either.

6. Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta (1.926 million 1.0)- Maybe VH1 might have hoped for a little better but still they will call this a win and take it so we'll just see where it goes from here.

7. Dallas (6.863 million 1.5)- Depending on where you look some people are calling this show a smash hit while others are declaring it a mega flop (because expectations were high given the promotion). For now this is closer to being a smash hit but I would keep an eye on that demo because it is not all that great to start out with given the number of viewers this show has pulled.

8. The Client List (2.729 million 1.0)- This has turned out to be a very solid show for Lifetime and as a network that has had some trouble in the past launching scripted shows, this (Along with Army Wives and Drop Dead Diva) puts them one step closer to having a formidable slate of decently rated scripted shows.

9. So You Think You Can Dance (6.71 million 2.5)- This show from what I can vaguely recall is down from last season but still doing well. I will say FOX made a mistake in getting rid of the 2-day format so early in the season because The Choice and Take Me Out are both flops.

10. Longmire (3.517 million 1.0)- This is down nearly 600k from the first 2 episodes but it’s still a good showing. Heavy competition could be the reason for this little slump because it wasn’t the only Sunday cable show to see lower ratings this week.
