10 Ratings Blurbs 5/30/12 Edition

I'm fully aware this is a day late but blame the holiday for that. These things tend to happen for holidays that fall on Mondays.

1. Glee (7.46 million 2.9)- Next season this show is going to get the cushiest spot on FOX’s schedule (behind X Factor/Idol). Conventional wisdom says this should get a boost but I guarantee the claws will come out if this show can’t stay above 3.0 in the demo.

2. Dancing With the Stars (17.75 million 3.3)- So next season is supposed to be an All-Star season but knowing ABC, they will probably dig up the people who either really need money, the people everyone hated or nobody remembered them from the first time they were on.

3. American Idol (Wednesday Finale- 21.49 million 6.1)- Now think about this for a minute. American Idol is an 11 season old show. Now realize that in all 11 seasons of the show this is the lowest rated finale ever. Next year is sure to be lower but it’s still impressive that the show puts up numbers like these after 11 seasons.

4. Revenge (7.85 million 2.4)- I’ve said it once and I’ve said it again, ABC needs to promote this show a lot over the summer or they will be in big trouble.

5. Mob Wives: Chicago [Preview] (848,000 0.4)- To be fair to it the Mob Wives reunion did terrible and this did hold on to most of that small audience. However it absolutely can’t average these numbers or do worse on its own and not being able to air a new episode for 3 weeks will not help matters (The official premiere is still June 10th but it’s technically a rerun of this episode). For now it gets a pass because it’s a preview.

6. Mob Wives 2 (920,000 0.4)- This is actually a series low for the show. The holiday weekend is most likely to blame but still this the cherry on top of the sundae for this rocky season that started off so well and stumbled big time [Full season ratings in this post]

7. Punk’d (766,000 0.3)- MTV is having a very rough go of things this spring and they have had not one show that has done well for them this cycle. This is one of those shows and I get the feeling MTV might be trying to make a last minute push to save it.

8. The Pauly D Project (888,000 0.5)- Like Punk’d it is getting harder and harder for MTV to have a justifiable reason to renew this show other than the fact that everything else is sucking pretty hard as well.

9. Single Ladies (1.762 million 1.0)- This is a little bit lower than the premiere from last season so there’s no need to worry just yet but this show holding up is critical if VH1 doesn’t want to have a rocky summer.

10. Mrs. Eastwood and Company (Sunday: 964,000 0.5; Monday: 1.094 million 0.5)- This fell from last week but not as hard as the Kardashians did. Now the show will go on a 2 week break and that’s not very good for a show that doesn’t have too much momentum in the right direction.
