Swagbucks Review

This week's review is about Swagbucks. It's a website that's not like many others out there.
What it is: Swagbucks is a site that combines all the simple things people like to do online and offers rewards for those things. It’s a site that offers a little something for everyone whether that thing is taking surveys, playing games, surfing the web, watching videos, using Facebook and Twitter, or shopping.
Who can join: Residents of the US, Canada (excluding Quebec) and the UK are eligible to join the site. For those who live outside of those 3 countries there is no way to apply. The minimum age to apply for Swagbucks is 13. Users younger than 13 cannot apply for a Swagbucks account even with parental permission.
What you need to apply: You will need a valid email address to apply for Swagbucks. If you are looking to redeem your Swagbucks for cash then you will need a Paypal account. If you choose to redeem your Swagbucks for prizes then you may need to provide your home address so that the items can be shipped to you.
Cost to sign up: There is no cost to sign up for a Swagbucks account but to fully utilize some aspects of the site you will need to have access to a credit or debit card.
How much you can make: Swagbucks is not the kind of site to go into making any plans to make a little bit of side income. Rather it would be much easier to use Swagbucks as a supplement to other things. If you’re the type of person who likes to do a lot of shopping then it would be great to look at Swagbucks to see if they are offering special coupons or deals on things you buy on a regular basis. If you are like me and all you choose to do is use the search engine then that is fine as well. I will say that buying things offers the best chance of accumulating a lot of Swagbucks quickly. Surveys are a good way too if you are the type who doesn’t get tested out of surveys very quickly.
As far as the payout goes, the minimum Paypal payout is $5 (about 750 Swagbucks). Gift cards also start in $5 increments but those rates vary and those can be attained at much lower thresholds than taking the cash payment. (Be warned that Swagbucks is ridiculously slow in processing prizes. They can and usually will take 10-15 business days to process and deliver your prize)
Ways to get the payout faster: The absolute fastest way to get payouts is from completing their special offers. The special offers almost always require purchasing something so if it is something that you know you use or would like to have it is not a bad idea. If you complete offers just to get the Swagbucks then you will probably hurt yourself more than you help yourself.
Swagbucks also offers ways for people to earn Swagbucks if they follow them on Facebook or Twitter. In these instances usually special codes or contests are held over Facebook and Twitter that gives some users access to things that casual Swagbucks users (such as myself) generally miss.
There is also a referral program with Swagbucks but it is quite limited in how you can earn. If you do have referrals you can only earn up to 1000 Swagbucks per referral and the referral can only earn Swagbucks through using the search engine (there is a special toolbar that you can download to get the search engine).

Swagbuck is truly one of my favorite survey sites out there. You can make money so many ways with swagbucks. Taking surveys and referrals are the best ways to make money with theis site. Plus I never had any problem getting paid with swagbucks and I have been a member with these guys for about 2 years now.
I haven't had any problems getting paid by them though it does take quite a bit longer than other sites to process their payments.
I am satisfied with the site and I think it's a great place for people (especially teens) to go if they want a little extra spending money or if they would rather redeem their Swagbucks for gift cards. It won't make you rich overnight but it's definitely worth signing up for.
swagbucks sucks... they are deactivating accounts without any reason.
big scam!!!!!!!!!
They deactivate accounts if people try to cheat and use bots to game the system but it's all about reading the TOS.
People want to cry scam for every little thing if it doesn't go their way or they don't rich from something. Either you like it or you don't but I guarantee this place is better than 95% than all of these other GPT sites clogging the internet.
I've never had any problems with them and they certainly not a scam to me as I've been paid by them and I've never spent money on the things they do offer but I will say that Swagbucks as with every site is not for everyone. That's just the truth.
I can't get myself to love swagbucks. I've used it for a while but like you said it's not really for side income, or supplemental in my opnion. So I started to use sites like cashcrate, inbox dollars, and instantbucks - all more focused on surveys and offers to earn significant amounts of cash. Instantbucks is my fave right now- cash and gift cards and fast processing too!
I've heard great things about all of those sites though I've never used them personally. I'm not particularly a fan of the instant offers and I get tested out of basically 95% of surveys (those are things I also shy away from on Swagbucks too) so sites like those wouldn't be particularly great for me because there's not much I could do with them but I definitely wouldn't steer someone away from those sites because so many other people have has success with them.
It's a challenge to find the places that work for you. If it were so simple to make good money online everyone would do it but that's why you have to look for what works and what doesn't.
Totally agree. I guess I've found what works for me are offers - signup for sites, surveys, and things like that that may require a little time but have a much higher payout. I don't have the attention span to do all the searching, watching videos, etc... I tend to forget swagbucks is open and always blank on searches when I'm actually trying to earn SB. haha
I tend to only use Swagbucks for the search but that's because I do a lot of searches throughout the day routinely so it's not like I have to do anything extra to try to make it become a habit for me. So for that I see it as making a little extra for something I've been doing for free all along.
I do spend the bulk of my time elsewhere like on Amazon MTurk, Postloop or writing. I know some people aren't great writers or just don't like to do it but it's all about doing what you like.

This website has been working out great for me. I have over 1,000 swagbucks in less than a month of being a member. The best way to earn bucks on this website is referrals. This means that for every person that joins on your referral, you get matching swagbucks for their earnings. So please, if you want to join swagbucks just click this link: http://www.swagbucks.com/refer/Tommy5502 . If you need any help, just chat with me after you click on the above link. Happy Money Making :)

I do believe Swagbucks pays out its rewards, however they jump the gun and accuse you of exploiting their system when you accumulate swagbucks too quickly. I made about 2600 Swagbucks in about 10 days of using the site, all legitimately and not using any exploits, and I was deactivated a day later.
I contacted their compliance team, and they sent me a generic copy-paste e-mail saying I exploited SBTV through an auto-refresher. I have only ever watched SBTV through the toolbar, and would watch SBTV while surfing the web, or chatting on skype, etc.
I asked them to go over their information again to make sure, but they just told me that this is the final information and my account will be deactivated permanently.
So this is just a warning to all new users. If you plan on using Swagbucks and get a few points per day like the poster above, that's fine. You won't get deactivated if you follow their ToS. However, if you plan on using it like I did, and spending your whole day accumulating points, don't bother. It is a waste of your time because they will think you are a bot.
