10 Ratings Blurbs 3/5/13 Edition

Didn't feel like there was much to choose from this week. I'm guessing it's because a lot of the broadcast shows decided to skip the week plus there weren't many premieres or finales [Full List Here]

1. Real Housewives of Atlanta (3.066 million 1.4)- After a couple of tough weeks it looks like the show is bouncing back. It’s still off from its season highs but it’s more than adequate and that’s all that matters right now.

2. Celebrity Apprentice (5.15 million 1.7)- For Celebrity Apprentice, these ratings suck. For NBC they don’t really suck for now. Since it’s probably only downhill from here, it’s probably going to be stuck in the danger zone for the rest of the season and it will be up to NBC to decide what to do with the show when the time comes to make a decision.

3. The Following (8.81 million 2.8)- It's no surprise that this show got renewed yesterday. In my opinion this is probably the only legitimate new hit show of the season (Elementary is a disappointment and Revolution doesn't count because its shielded by The Voice).

4. Love & Hip Hop 3 (1.812 million 1.1)- Sorry I still think this show is getting renewed. I know they are desperate for the Atlanta version to come back but I see some cracks in this night and just canceling this (plus Basketball Wives LA) right now would cause turmoil that they won’t be able to easily fix seeing that they only really have one legitimately strong show and like 3-5 shows that will need to depend on some portion of it in the near future.

5. American Idol (Wednesday: 13.30 million 3.9; Thursday 12.56 million 3.8)- These numbers would be good for every other show not named American Idol. Clearly the show is on the decline still and at this point I’m not convinced that any further cast shakeups will help to turn the show around. There’s likely still one good season left in this show but FOX need to prepare for life without this show.

6. The Mindy Project (3.26 million 1.7)- After the past 3-4 weeks I’m not surprised that this show got renewed. What I am surprised about is that they renewed the show as early as they did. I’m also surprised that Glee wasn’t in that batch of renewals so now that only leaves 3 FOX shows with their fates undecided (but don’t be surprised if Touch and The Cleveland Show both get canceled).

7. Kourtney & Kim Take Miami (1.426 million 0.8)- If I remember correctly this show is really only off about 200k viewers from Kourtney & Kim Take New York last year. It does feel like these numbers are worse than they really are but E! is flexible with this family and basically if they wanted to do something they would just change around the sisters to keep this crap going since everything else fails for them.

8. Spartacus: War of the Damned (1.018 million 0.4)- For the first time this season the show is finally over a million viewers. I guess if it wants to end on a high note then this is a pretty good start to making that happen.

9. The Lying Game (1.234 million 0.5)- With most of the attention focused on the other ABC Family shows this one has been practically sitting in the corner. It hasn’t really shown any growth from the previous cycle of episodes but it hasn’t really declined either. The ratings aren’t great but ABC Family has to deal with worse.

10. Dallas (2.785 million 0.7)- This is a mixed result for such a hyped episode so I’ve heard. The total viewers are very decent. The demo on the other hand sucks and really didn’t increase as much as I’m sure TNT was hoping it would do.
