Why The People On VH1 Reality Shows Will Never Be Famous

So anyway this post stems from a conversation I was having at Bourgy. It was merely a response as to why I don't think the people on Love & Hop Hop: Atlanta will go on to be famous after this show is over and why the women on the Bravo Housewives shows are considered "celebrities" for doing the exact same thing...which is front and sell their souls for a few dollars (For the record I don't think any of the other never-wives and side chicks on all these other VH1 shows are famous and the ones on Bravo really shouldn't be).
This was meant to just be a comment (why it so choppy and all over the place and rife with cursing) but because the comments are acting crazy over there today and because it was more than 500 words and I was able to save it I'm posting it as-is (To those who aren't used to my rants like this just know that I'm used to being called a hater, I don't watch this or any other show, you're not wrong if you don't agree with me and I also don't care if this turns up on another site...just give credit where its due).
Love & Hip Hop Atlanta has just about equal ratings to RHOA but the reason why the Bravo Housewives are more attractive to the broadcast networks than the VH1 chicks comes down to marketability. Pretty much 85-95% of LHHA's audience is black. RHOA on its best days are still only 70% black.
These Broadcast networks work on a 30% or lower black audience so they don't benefit that much ratings-wise by pulling someone off of a highly popular black show. They aren't trying to appeal to black people all that much. Sucks that we have this in 2012 but that's the honest truth. The point is to get as many people from every group to watch and the more black people you have the more you turn off your white audience. These white folks are also more apt to complain heavily about a black person's celebrity qualifications and they are already on shaky ground when they cast white reality personalities to be on "celebrity" shows. That's why you won't see these people on DWTS or Celebrity Apprentice.
These VH1 chicks go and think a little hood novella or a little cheap ass makeup line is their claim to being a businesswoman but in most cases a major distributor (not counting Amazon or eBay) never picks that shit up.
With those Bravo women they have legitimate businesses so the ones that do end up on Celebrity Apprentice (NeNe and Theresa) actually do have the business acumen to not make the show look foolish (there are plenty of ex-Playboy centerfolds they can and do get to do that) plus Bravo writes it into their contracts that they get a cut of their business profits if they are going to use the show to promote. That's why those chicks work so damn hard to make something out of what they got because Bravo is getting some of that money too so they better make enough of it that it doesn't hurt them.
VH1 is a dead end for these people. These people go on the show broke as hell with maybe a couple thousand Twitter followers to their name. Don't be fooled. These idiots signed their souls away for 3500/episode (That's the starting rate. They will get a raise next season but best believe shit might still not be 10k/episode until they get to season 3). There is nowhere for them to go unless they get in this shit with a plan and get out with that seed money to get what they want off the ground. Unfortunately most of these dumbasses can't see the forest from the trees so they stay on thinking they will get the spinoffs and they will get the recognition but what does that really mean? Ok you have 500k followers on Twitter but your ass still can't stand outside the Today Studios? Hot 105 is as high as you can go in New York? You can only do 1200 dollar club appearances, gotta pay the paparazzi or TMZ just to write something about you or take your picture? How is that being famous? That's being desperate.
Shit I wrote too much. I might as well post this on my blog now.
And here is Part 2 to my response that I typed up just now (Thought it was too long and valuable to leave in the comments)
It is a shame when you think about it. The shade VH1 throws towards these people is sickening and yet these people (sometimes can’t blame them either if they want to keep their jobs) can’t bite the hand that feeds them. Let’s also not forget that.
Mob Wives got a DVD after their first season. While VH1 waited until season 4 to release DVD’s for the 3 previous seasons of Basketball Wives and the one for Basketball Wives LA. They also waited until now to release the 2 Love & Hip Hop DVD’s.
Mob Wives (when I say this I talk about the NY ones, they don’t give a crap about the Chicago ones. They can’t even get on the local talk shows here) can be on Good Morning America and The View once a month but none of the Black ones can get anywhere (they only let the Hollywood Exes on GMA because of who they used to be married to).
VH1 used that one little Basketball Wives LA aftershow as a back-door pilot to the Mob Wives aftershow (which then flopped).
VH1 uses certain areas of their site to promote when the Mob Wives do club and party appearances but no such luck with any of these other chicks and they use club appearances to supplement the little chicken-scratch income VH1 gives (they can recoup the same money VH1 paid them the entire season in club appearances if they do 3/week for the entire run of their show)
VH1 does nothing when all these “fans” on Twitter go in on these people for what’s aired on the show every week but Mob Wives get such preferential treatment during editing (portraying them primarily as struggling mothers who want their own careers) that their “fans” won’t elicit the same hate as the black shows.
The signs are all there. VH1 is pimping these people and we all sat here and watched them have almost 2 years of trash ratings for this. Now they are going to squeeze these people for every penny and 5-6 years down the road you will remember them but then also realize they never got more famous than they were.

You would never know Sheree was on a Bravo show because she didn't do a dang thing with her 15 minutes to assure herself of a comfortable life. She's still out doing...well the same thing she did on the show. Not a damn thing! She continues to wait around for child support she knows isn't coming, going on blogs complaining about the child support that isn't coming, while her ex has moved on and the rumor is he has put a ring on the woman who runs Straight from the A. Sheree's latest venture is in retooling her ShebySheree line by selling cheap ass jewelry from Kitsy Lane. (equivalent to selling Avon!)I would honestly have more respect for Sheree if she would take the initative to go back to school for a degree or get a real damn job! Maybe then she could get her kids off the floor from the air mattresses and onto some real furniture!
Even though those VH1 people never make it anywhere at least they seem to have nice homes (or at least nice bathrooms since they are always taking oics of themselves in the dang mirrors)
Personally I think her inability to get her business stuff together is why Sheree left RHOA. No point in owing Bravo money she didn't have. I mean yea they were paying her to do the show but she was just turning around and using that money to stunt and stay in court. Something about that split was not amicable and I do not believe she was fully fired for having no storyline nor do I believe she left to pursue better things. I think she left because she didn't want to owe Bravo money and Bravo let her go because she wasn't all that important to the show like Kim and NeNe are and yes her ex is fucking that chick that runs Straight From the A that is no secret. You can watch some of Funky Dineva's old videos right before he linked up with her and started stanning for her and Kandi) to prove that.
PS. Most of them bathroom pics are in hotel mirrors or if the pics are taken while the show is on chances are the apartment/condo they are in are rented by VH1.
