10 Ratings Blurbs 8/28/12 Edition

Though a lot of shows were up, these ratings didn't really seem to interest me that much. Next week there should be a lot of premieres and finales to post on (and I just remembered that next week's post might be on Wednesday with the holiday and all).

Anyway here's the full list and check back tomorrow and Thursday when I do my scorecard (a lot of reorganizing with that) and I'll post the VH1 ratings from 2008 as well.

1. America’s Next Top Model (1.09 million 0.4)- The CW would have been crazy to expect better than this and while this is extremely low for the show realize that a million viewers on a summer Friday on the CW now is almost mythical.

2. Single Ladies (2.866 million 1.6)- VH1 is pleased I’m sure. Their lone scripted show ends the season with another series high. I suppose now there will be questions of whether this can stand on its own but unless Mondays magically become a mess in a year then they won’t take the chance to answer those questions.

3. True Blood (5.049 million 2.8)- This is nearly identical to last season’s finale and a lot has changed for HBO this year. Though True Blood still retains the crown as their highest rated show, they do now know that they have Game of Thrones and the upcoming Boardwalk Empire to lean on in between seasons.

4. Anger Management (1.976 million 0.8)- This is somewhat disappointing for the finale. It most certainly could have done better and now all eyes are on FX to see if they will really go for that 90 episode renewal (Update 8/29/12: FX has given Anger Management the 90 episode renewal).

5. Hell’s Kitchen (6.87 million 2.9)- This took quite an impressive jump from last week. It may be because the season is winding down but it surely helps Hotel Hell.

6. Project Runway (2.688 million 1.0)- Yet another show on this list that hit a season high in the last week (my attempt at variety is so horrible). I can’t quite remember if last season got numbers like these at this in the season and I’m not in the mood to go look either.

7. All the Right Moves (126,000 0.0)- The good news is that even on a 3 week break and no lead-in that this show didn’t do worse than the premiere. The bad news is that these ratings are still beyond horrible even for Oxygen.

8. Real Housewives of NYC (1.823 million 0.8)- This is a season high for the show and now there should be 2 main goals for this show for the rest of the season. The first is stay at this level or better. The second is to make sure to have better numbers than Real Housewives of Miami when that returns in a couple of weeks.

9. Mama Drama (582,000 0.3)- Hollywood Exes ends tomorrow and this show doesn’t meaning it will have a couple episodes where there will be nothing on Wednesdays with it. None of that matters to VH1 though because they still don’t care about this show.

10. Real World: St Thomas (1.106 million 0.6)- This season is pretty much a wash for MTV. It doesn’t look like it’s going to get any better but it probably won’t get too much worse either (I’d like to know who thought it was a good idea to have the next season in Portland? Seriously what is even there? Goes to show you that the cities on these shows really don't mean a thing.)

Why do people still watch Hell Kitchen? It's the same thing every week of every season

I don't know why but I have never been a fan of cooking shows.
