10 Ratings Blurbs 10/30/12 Edition

Glad this wasn't delayed too long. I really wasn't in the mood to wait around all night for ratings (Besides it's better to miss a few shows and add on to them later anyway).

[Full List Here]

1. Pretty Little Liars (2.849 million 1.2)- This is decent for the Halloween special. Nothing particularly spectacular about these numbers but they are also far from horrendous. ABC Family’s focus for the rest of the year will be getting the most out of their holiday movies.

2. Project Runway: All Stars (1.238 million 0.5)- This is a dreadful start to this show. Personally I was never convinced that the first season ratings for this were good enough to be deserving for another season and this right here shows why it probably shouldn’t have been done again and especially not so soon.

3. Ice Loves Coco (1.144 million 0.6)- The good news is this nearly equal to season 2 levels. The bad news is it had a lead-in (albeit not a very good one) and this is only the first episode so there is a lot of room to go down from here. If that happens then this is probably the last season.

4. Keeping Up With the Kardashians (1.466 million 0.7)- I don’t believe this was a particularly hyped special because the numbers reflect that. I think they put this on to help Ice Loves Coco an Married to Jonas and if that was the plan then it wasn’t very successful.

5. Grimm (6.11 million 2.0)- I’m not 100% sure if this is a season high for this show but even if it isn’t it’s still a very good showing. NBC has a lot to be proud of with this show even though it doesn’t get the headlines that it should (because outside of this show, The Voice an Revolution everything else is suspect at best or a hot ass mess at worst).

6. T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle (2.181 million 1.2)- Seems VH1’s Mondays have a back and forth race. None of the three shows has solidified themselves as the undisputed top-rated show but if you go by season averages then this show would by #1 by a landslide (because its average is overinflated from the first 2 episodes). This week saw this show’s highest numbers since the first week (VH1 aired episode 1 and 2 on the same night).

7. Real Housewives of Miami (Thursday: 859,000 0.4; Sunday; 1.352 million 0.6)- Despite what people want to think about that Sunday number, just know 2 things. 1) It is not good enough for Bravo to consider moving the show to Sunday (not that they will because they have no reason to postpone Shahs of Sunset for this). 2) It is not enough to save this show.

8. Scandal (6.11 million 2.0)- Now that I give it some thought, I’m not really surprised that ABC gave this a full season. They are going to be forced to cancel at least 2 shows before February and they really don’t have all that much on the bench (also ABC is never particularly confident in their midseason shows). Now they have the issue of deciding to keep it behind Grey’s Anatomy (where it will probably pull a 2.0 demo the rest of the way and be at the mercy of hoping more shows flop) or moving it somewhere else (where it won’t have a particularly great lead-in and probably end up getting canceled in May).

9. Chrissy & Mr. Jones (2.031 million 1.1)- I’m not sure what to make of this show. One week its ratings are acceptable and the next week its numbers suck. It probably doesn’t help me very much knowing there are only 2 episodes left but I’ll try to come up with something by November 10th.

10. Behind The Music: Toni Braxton (1.414 million 0.7)- Unsurprisingly this is a season high for Behind The Music. Its Sunday numbers have been awful mostly because of a lack of interest in the featured artists plus a very tepid lead-in. I believe VH1 expected a little more from this particular episode since they went though the trouble of scheduling it on Monday but they will take it.
