10 Ratings Blurbs 2/12/13 Edition

A few surprises in here this week [Full List Here].

1. The Walking Dead (12.257 million 6.1)- I’m amazed at how the premieres and finales of this show keep setting new records. It (plus the Grammy’s) are the reason why basically everything on Sunday got completely obliterated. Next week we will see how much credit this deserves for the destruction on Sundays.

2. Mob Wives (639,000 0.3)- I absolutely was not expecting Mob Wives to sink this low. I originally wanted to put this in this month’s cable prediction post (as a redo) but I eventually decided against it because I wanted to see how it was going to settle in its new timeslot. I see that was a good decision because this is a very troubling number.

3. Kourtney & Kim Take Miami (1.313 million 0.6)- I’m thinking that this show is not going to recover next week because it’s still going to air at 9pm and therefore be right in the path of The Walking Dead. We’ll see how E! feels about these numbers in the coming weeks and days (in other words seeing if they want to stay the course or bump the show an hour earlier or later) but it looks like we may have finally found a real Kardashian repellent.

4. Emily Owens M.D. (1.50 million 0.4)- 13 episodes or not I think cancelation was still going to be inevitable for this show. The CW already has a death match setting up between The Carrie Diaries, Hart of Dixie and Beauty and the Beast (IMO The Carrie Diaries is the one that might be winning at the moment).

5. Revenge (5.20 million 1.4)- Remember all those warnings about this show I was giving in the fall. This is the end result of these warnings. Now granted this show won’t have to go up against anymore big events (it will be preempted for the Oscars) but it will have to continue to face The Walking Dead plus there’s the dreaded Daylight Savings Time hit that most broadcast shows seem to take so it won’t get easier from here.

6. Supernatural (2.29 million 1.0)- So this show has basically closed the demo gap with Arrow and since both shows (plus The Vampire Diaries) have already been renewed for next season, it would be wise for The CW to adopt the “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” mantra for their Wednesday lineup.

7. Buckwild (Finale Part 1: 2.566 million 1.3; Finale Part 2: 2.714 million 1.5; Clip Show: 2.553 million 1.4)- I’m not a betting person but I would guarantee that MTV is either going to produce 12 more episodes for season 2 or expand the show to an hour (and the likelihood for both is high). For the numbers they got I’m sure they are regretting that they aired so many episodes in just 6 weeks.

8. Black Ink Crew (1.284 million)- It is my understanding that VH1 made a last minute decision to bump Love & Hip Hop. I don’t know if it was because of editing issues with that show or if they wanted to see how Black Ink Crew could fare as an anchor. Well they have their answer right here. This show does deserve another season but if they want it to anchor Mondays then that is a terrible idea. If they want this to anchor another night in the future it’s not such a bad idea but it’s not something they should be gung-ho about either.

9. Pretty Little Liars (2.750 million 1.2)- Looks like the numbers are starting to perk up a little bit. Hopefully that sticks around because ABC Family is not out of the woods yet and they need for this show to stay strong.

10. Real Housewives of Atlanta (2.699 million 1.2)- This is a pretty severe hit coming off of that episode from 2 weeks ago. Bravo better hope that most of the losses came from the Grammy Awards because if not then it undermines the whole reason why they moved this show up to 8pm in the first place.
