10 Ratings Blurbs 4/9/13 Edition

I feel like falling asleep over here. I think I am going to do just that because today was far too boring [Full List Here].

1. The Gossip Game (911,000 0.5)- I can envision a future where VH1 will swap this with Family Hustle or just push the show back to 11pm when Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta starts. They might be stuck with one disappointing show but they aren't going to let this one show kill another one.

2. Snooki & JWOWW (1.706 million 1.0)- Even now at the end of the season there just isn’t much to say about this show. The ratings has basically held firm the entire season and with MTV’s upfronts due this month I do believe that a renewal announcement for this show is likely to occur when they announce their schedule.

3. Mob Wives 3 (1.470 million 0.7)- This show needed the numbers to come up and VH1 needed the numbers to come up so this is a plus. The season has been disappointing and VH1 knows they have work to do for season 4 and they need to ask themselves if the next season should be the last (yes I still think this is getting renewed too. They literally have nothing else going for them on Sundays).

4. Bates Motel (2.30 million 1.0)- I’m not surprised that this show got renewed but I do think it was just a tad bit too early to do it especially because the show hasn’t established what its ratings floor is just yet.

5. Being Human (1.07 million 0.5)- For a finale this is not very promising. Like Alphas I would not be surprised if it gets canceled but with now 2 scripted cycles of lower ratings across the board for Syfy I don’t think the certainty of cancellation is all that clear (I hear their upfronts are tomorow).

6. The New Normal (9:00: 4.46 million 1.7; Finale: 3.39 million 1.4)- Take this in for a minute. These 2 episodes were the last 2 episodes of the season. Also note that these 2 episodes aired directly behind The Voice (13.93 million 4.5 demo) and yet this was the best the show could do. NBC is desperate especially on the comedy front but at some point someone in those offices is going to have to say that they can do better with unknowns and get rid of the dead weight because this show can’t live without The Voice and it doesn’t do well enough to justify wasting the only good spot on the schedule for it either.

7. The Americans (1.378 million 0.4)- This here is why I’m not a fan of unnecessary 2 week breaks. This is also why I’m not really a fan of first season shows getting such early renewals. What looked promising in the beginning of the season for FX is now looking more and more like they could have made a mistake so hopefully these numbers come up for tomorrow’s episode.

8. Kourtney & Kim Take Miami (2.556 million 1.4)- One episode doesn’t usually break a season but there is evidence that one episode can save a season, especially if the episode is the last one of the season. So if nothing else E! is going to keep convincing themselves that people are not tired of the Kardashians (the sound you hear is the collective groan of the masses including mine).

9. T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle 3 (1.35 million 0.7)- This is pretty low for the show. Not the lowest ever but pretty low and while the basketball game has some role in these lower numbers, The Gossip Game also shares some of the blame too.

10. The Voice (Monday: 14.03 million 5.0)- Since last Tuesday’s numbers have already been mentioned here I’m only talking about last night’s episode. This is really surprising and impressive that the show is actually up over the fall season and it was up from last week considering that half of the episode had to face the NCAA Tournament Championship Game.
