10 Ratings Blurbs 7/2/13 Edition

Still trying to get things in order here but I should be caught up with everything on this end sometime tomorrow after I finally get around to posting the Scorecard for June [Full List Here].

1. Devious Maids (2.086 million 0.6)- I suppose these numbers are ok. For a second week drop this isn't very big but the issue at hand going into the weeks ahead will be how quickly this show finds its floor.

2. Catfish: The TV Show (2.502 million 1.4)- MTV had to jump for joy at these numbers. With a new night the show didn't appear to lose a beat at all. Now they are hoping that this show can keep that good fortune rolling.

3. Big Brother (Wednesday: 6.51 million 2.2, Sunday: 5.81 million 1.9)- I'm trying to think back to last summer and I believe these numbers are slightly lower but still in the same general area. That means the show is not doing horribly but if nobody noticed it before then it should now be clear that the show's best days are behind it.

4. I’m Married to A (308,000 0.2)- This show looked like it was showing a little glimmer of hope but these last 2 weeks have gone back to being brutal. Now we're at the end of the season and there's a very good chance that this is going to be tossed aside as another one season show (and if you're curious, VH1 has only officially renewed 3 shows this year [Tough Love, La La's Fully Court Life and Family Hustle]. Another one [Black Ink Crew] is coming back but it's not yet official which is notable because they have premiered 18 shows so far this year).

5. Dexter (2.484 million 1.2)- Because this is the final season, the numbers for this show are completely irrelevant. Showtime got the exposure they wanted for their scripted shows and this show continues to deliver for them. However all good things must eventually come to an end and for the next few months Showtime is hoping that they and the fans can enjoy this ride one last time.

6. 666 Park Avenue (2.14 million 0.5)- I forgot this returned 2 weeks ago (shows what I think of Saturday ratings). There aren't too many episodes left to air now so this will be all over very soon.

7. Under the Dome (11.81 million 2.9)- This is hands down the surprise show of the summer. Yes it's only 2 episodes in but nothing on broadcast outside of America's Got Talent and one hour of Masterchef even comes close to this and those are reality shows. Scripted shows have had a very hard time getting traction on Broadcast TV during the summer so this is a glimmer of hope for all the networks (not just CBS) that something can work here if they actually try to find something that could do well.

8. Cult (8:00: 510,000 0.1; 9:00: 440,000 0.1)- Summer is the graveyard for shows like these and unfortunately not many shows even get this treatment. The much lower numbers are usually why every pulled show doesn't get all of their episodes aired but networks are beginning to come around to this idea only for the reason that they know that the general public tends to get annoyed with an endless string of reruns in the summer.

9. Keeping Up With the Kardashians (2.343 million 1.1)- After looking at these numbers for a good month I have to say that this season is not doing all that great. Too bad E! is still committed to at least 1 more season of this and this is still their highest rated show but it does feel good to see that people are starting to get over this family.

10. Don’t Be Tardy (1.322 million 0.6)- I was not aware that this was the finale until a couple of hours ago. This isn't a bad showing for the finale and the season as a whole has had the same tone. I think Bravo knows that oddly this show performs better alone and for a network struggling to find standalone spinoffs, this is a valuable asset. Once again I believe a renewal basically comes down to what kind of role Kim can take (seeing that she is also pregnant yet again). The numbers for a third season are there so it comes down to whether the family is willing an able to do it.
