10 Ratings Blurbs 7/16/13 Edition

Several finales, a premiere or two and some other miscellaneous shows thrown in there. Typical summer week I suppose (counting down the days until mid-September).

1. Hit the Floor (2.234 million 1.2)- This show really can’t seem to break through that 2.2 million ceiling. Luckily that 2.2 million is more than enough for any show to get renewed on VH1 so that’s why it got that renewal yesterday.

2. Cult (8pm: 540,000 0.2; Finale: 400,000 0.1)- Granted this show really didn’t have much more to lose but I think The CW is glad that the show is off their books so that they can get their real summer program started. If tonight’s programs don’t do well then there probably isn’t much hope for them until October.

3. The Challenge: Rivals II (1.574 million 0.9)-This is decent but is it me or did it feel like MTV poured a ton of promotion into this particular season? Maybe they are hoping to capture new fans but after 20+ seasons they have to realize that this is a show that has its own fanbase and it’s not going to be easy to try to get new people to watch it.

4. Real Housewives of New Jersey (2.700 million 1.2)- This is way up from last week and up from basically every episode that aired over the past month. It could be the late season bump or it could just be that it was a fight episode and people are always curious to watch those.

5. La La’s Full Court Life 4 (999,000 0.5)- This actually isn’t a bad start for the show. It did better than Hollywood Exes and these are basically the best Sunday numbers VH1 has seen since Mob Wives ended. It could be that this show is again being used as a test and if that’s the case then it passed the first part of it.

6. The Show with Vinny (10:00- 444,000 0.2; Finale- 477,000 0.2)- What more is there to say about this show? The numbers pretty much speak for themselves. The show never caught on and the numbers basically kept dropping. It should be obvious what happens next.

7. Longmire (3.390 million 0.5)- I don’t know if this is a series low for the show (my gut is telling me that it might be) but this is where an extreme skew starts making a difference in how you look at these numbers. 0.3 demo points higher and this really isn’t an issue at all.

8. 666 Park Avenue (9pm: 1.56 million 0.3; 9:30pm 1.49 million 0.4 preliminary)- Forgive the weird split here. Saturday ratings in the summer are rarely whole. That’s probably about the only thing that can be said about these numbers because this show has now completed the long walk to its death.

9. Hell’s Kitchen (5.25 million 2.1)- Again, Gordon Ramsay can do no wrong in the eyes of FOX executives and it will continue to be that way for a few more years.

10. Bad Girls All Star Battle (1.265 million 0.6)- We all know this is very good for the show and very good for Oxygen. I do wonder how Oxygen will go about how these numbers pertain to Love Games. By that I mean that this show proves that they can have a successful standalone spinoff. Love Games has been mediocre at best and that show is now on 5 seasons. Do they try to give that show a little more of a push or do they get hasty and decide that Love Games is no longer needed since it had so many chances to prove its worth without seeing if the cast for this season of All Star Battle was the true driving force to its success (In simpler terms I’m saying do they let Love Games skate to a season 6 to see if their viewers actually prefer the format of All Star Battle regardless of having a good cast or do they cancel Love Games thinking that people will watch any thrown together season of All Star Battle?)
