10 Ratings Blurbs: 10/4/16 Edition

The premieres are slowing down, but The CW will roll out their lineup in the next couple of weeks.

1. Fear the Walking Dead (9:00: 3.671 million 1.6; Finale: 3.048 million 1.3)- The people at AMC must chuckle to themselves knowing that while they managed to dominate cable for the past several weeks, they can now look forward to dominating television beginning next week.

2. Project Runway (1.809 million 0.5)- It looks like the show is turning in a strong start so far this season. Perhaps the people at Lifetime are watching the numbers with hopeful optimism because this is one of the few shows that tend to experience stronger numbers towards the end of the season.

3. Black Ink Crew: Chicago (Premiere: 1.563 million 0.9; Episode 2: 1.385 million 0.7)- These 2 episodes already have lower numbers than every episode that aired the first season. It’s hard to imagine a ratings recovery when this is against NFL Football and its lead-in isn’t as good as more recent shows have enjoyed.

4. American Horror Story (3.078 million 1.7)- I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that I expected the ratings to drop from the premiere. The losses are big, but that demo will keep FX from going into panic mode (I should add that FX decided to renew the show today).

5. Basketball Wives LA (1.678 million 0.8)- This seems like a good time for the show to hit season high ratings. It’s not quite the end of the season, but its future appears very unclear despite being a steady, stable performer.

6. Teen Mom OG (1.136 million 0.6)- This show just hovers around quietly on Monday nights. It keeps MTV float during a time where no one is talking about their shows.

7. The Strain (796,000 0.4)- Last week, FX decided to renew the show for a fourth and final season. That means the ratings no longer matter from here on out.

8. Ru Paul’s All Stars Drag Race (Logo: 292,000 0.2; VH1: 313,000 0.2)- The show seems to be doing fine for Logo. I’m not sure VH1 is all that pleased with the numbers they are seeing on their end, but it appears to be doing much better than their reruns.

9. Elementary (6.032 million 0.8)- Don’t get blinded by the viewer total. These are not good numbers for the premiere. It signals that the show may be on borrowed time, especially if CBS ends up with younger dramas that appear destined for the syndication farm.

10. Real Housewives of Melbourne (347,000 0.1)- I would say that this is likely to appear if Bravo acquires another season, but they should not air this anywhere other than Friday nights.
