10 Ratings Blurbs: 10/11/16 Edition

Some good things to see here and some bad things as well. Also, the theme of this week may be that if your favorite show aired Tuesday, Friday or Sunday, blame politics for the depressed numbers.

1. The Flash (3.166 million 1.3)- This is about a promising as it can get for The CW. Unlike other networks, the expectation wasn’t to have a breakout rookie show. The expectation was to solidify a franchise with a niche that only Netflix has managed to turn into a success thus far. Meeting those expectations starts with the top show delivering a solid return.

2. 2 Broke Girls (6.364 million 1.7)- I should start by saying this is the average for both episodes that aired last night. I don’t see anything odd about these numbers. We all know the night is now being supported by The Big Bang Theory. That will change at the end of the month and that is when we should have an idea about what to make of this show’s numbers.

3. Supergirl (3.063 million 1.1)- The CW wanted and expected these numbers. Now, the hope is that these numbers remain in striking distance of The Flash. Even if it doesn’t, the numbers will still be a massive improvement for the CW on Monday nights compared to recent years.

4. Little Women: LA (1.466 million 0.5)- The numbers have taken a step back from the series highs they were at a few weeks ago, but the show is still doing well. I’m not seeing anything of concern with this show or the Atlanta spinoff.

5. Arrow (1.871 million 0.7)- I think this will only be looked at as a decent start if the numbers hold. If they start slipping, I don’t think the show will be in danger, but I do believe that DC block will show vulnerability, especially if Legends of Tomorrow returns below expectations.

6. Don’t Be Tardy (771,000 0.3)- I’m not surprised about the numbers slipping. I would start showing some concern if the numbers continue to drop. This is already at the lower end of how his show has historically performed.

7. Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars (485,000 0.2)- These aren’t great premiere numbers. I think the show came back too soon, but Friday evening was unusual in the fact that two major news stories dominated the night.

8. Jim & Chrissy: Vow or Never (435,000 0.2)- My belief is that a show like this shouldn’t be on the bubble, but it probably is. WE has a lot of premieres lined up this month (2 this past Friday and two more this Thursday). I think the network will see where all of these shows end up before making a decision on any of them, but the results have been disappointing so far. That means for now, the show still has a chance to return.

9. Bad Girls Club: Social Disruption (481,000 0.2)- This bumped another show at the last minute only because Oxygen renewed the show today. It’s a bit surprising because Oxygen hasn’t sent out a press release officially renewing this show since season 11, they never renew shows after 3 episodes and it is the only show (outside of Snapped and those spinoffs) that the network has bothered to renew this year.

10. Masters of Sex (341,000 0.1)- This didn’t really suffer in terms of the demo, but the viewers took a hit. I would be willing to suggest the debate had an effect here.
