This is the week where you start to notice that it will be a long way to September.
1. America’s Got Talent (11.667 million 2.6)- Strong premiere for what is basically the top summer broadcast show.
2. Real Housewives of NYC (1.608 million 0.6)- Well this is something we haven’t seen in a long time with this show. We’re looking at actual ratings improvement here. I don’t know what is causing it, but hopefully this isn’t some one episode gimmick. That would suck.
3. Teen Mom 2 (1.636 million 0.9)- This show did the one job of proving to MTV that they still have a pulse somewhere on the network. They can’t ask for more at a time when they are desperately searching for new hit shows.
4. Devious Maids (1.080 million 0.4)- I was prepared to say that these numbers were a little low, but when I saw the numbers for Unreal, I just can’t do that. These numbers could be better, but I’m not sounding the alarm just yet.
5. Braxton Family Values (930,000 0.4)- In three weeks, this show has had one disappointing week, one bad week and one good week. This happens to be the good week. The ratings have been all over the place and we’re going to need a couple more weeks to see if the numbers can stabilize.
6. Ridiculousness (Premiere: 719,000 0.3; Episode 2: 751,000 0.4)- I don’t know what MTV was thinking airing that special a couple of weeks ago. These are the kind of numbers I expect to see from this show.
7. Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars (853,000 0.4)- Not a bad start here. I think the longer layoff and allowing all of the broadcast shows to end gave viewers a chance to anticipate the return.
8. MasterChef (3.809 million 1.2)- These ratings aren’t anything special. I just think it’s a good thing that FOX actually let a summer show premiere in the summer instead of rolling it out in April.
9. Beauty and the Beast (833,000 0.2)- This is the final season for this show. The demo is a little sad, but no one expects this show to magically get better numbers over the next several weeks.
10. So You Think You Can Dance (4.080 million 1.0)- I didn’t get a chance to get to this last week. The ratings are the same numbers that have had fans of this show on edge for the past few years. This show will end whenever FOX decides it will end.
