10 Ratings Blurbs: 3/15/16 Edition

Quite a few finales snuck up on me this week. One was obvious, but the rest were not.
1. Mob Wives: The Last Stand (1.252 million 0.6)- It is astounding to me that only 3 episodes of the entire series has seen ratings of over 2 million viewers (all 3 instances occurred the first 3 episodes of season 2). I’ve had my words about this show over the years, but I will say that this show came in at a time where the network was on life support and needed some semblance of stability.
2. Real Housewives of Atlanta (2.522 million 1.6)- The viewership number seems quite low for a finale, but the demo actually looks very good. It seems like the month of February may have completely damaged the ratings momentum the show had earlier this season.
3. Vanderpump Rules (1.444 million 0.7)- I don’t know if Bravo believed that this show would catch on the way that it did. They have had very mixed results with Real Housewives spinoffs. This one has managed to grow and get to a point where not only can it anchor a night, but it can do it and there isn’t much of a question to the fate of this show (I think it will be renewed).
4. American Idol (8.060 million 1.8)- So far, the show doesn’t appear to be damaged by shrinking down to a one day format. I know that there aren’t too many episodes left of the show (FOX claims that the show will conclude in April instead of May). I’m beginning to think that there won’t be a nostalgic ratings bump as we get closer to the finale.
5. DC’s Legends of Tomorrow (2.009 million 0.7)- Last week, every scripted show on The CW got renewed. That isn’t an exaggeration. All 11 of the scripted shows that have aired at least 1 episode this season got renewed. I’m not surprised that this is one of the shows, but it certainly looks like this show isn’t shaping up to be as strong as The Flash or Arrow. It isn’t worrisome right now, but it might be next year.
6. Teen Wolf (800,000 0.4)- I haven’t had much to say about this show and I haven’t come up with anything new to say other than it will be back next season.
7. Stevie J. & Joseline Go Hollywood (982,000 0.4)- With no Love & Hip Hop last night, the remaining 3 VH1 shows took a tumble. This show was hit the hardest because it lost over 600,000 viewers from last week. I guess people thought that the whole block was on a break and not just Love & Hip Hop.
8. Larger than Life: A Tribute to Big Ang (743,000 0.3)- It is not easy to pull together an impromptu celebration of life special in 3 weeks that also happens to coincide with the series finale of the show that made the deceased honoree famous. This isn’t a ratings issue. Ratings don’t matter here. Hopefully the family felt that this was an appropriate way to honor the life of Big Ang.
9. Ridiculousness (611,000 0.3)- This is certainly the lowest number I’ve ever seen for a finale of this show. I just can’t bring myself to believe that MTV is all that concerned about it though. I have to believe it will be back sometime this year.
10. Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (3.523 million 1.1)- Two things are true about this show. The first is that these ratings are still pretty awful. The second thing is that there was no way that ABC wasn’t going to include this in the big renewal wave a couple weeks ago. They are far too close to that all-important season 4.
