10 Ratings Blurbs: 4/11/17 Edition

This is a Bravo heavy list and while there are no known series finale shows on the list, I can't confidently say that there isn't one on the list either.

1. Real Housewives of Atlanta (2.685 million 1.1)- The ratings managed to stay in place for nearly the entire season (there was that rough patch in January and February with all of the events and preemptions). Steady is a little unusual for this show. We’ll see if that massive four-part reunion does anything to move the needle to give this show a strong finish.

2. Better Call Saul (1.813 million 0.7)- This is a bit low for a premiere episode, but it isn’t low enough to sound the alarms just yet. I’m still not quite sure why this had a delayed premiere. The first 2 seasons had early February debuts. There is still quite a bit of wiggle room in the ratings, but I think the show has enough of its own critical acclaim that AMC will allow the producers to end the show on their own terms (even though fans of Breaking Bad have a general idea of how this specific show could or should end).

3. Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (1.989 million 0.7)- I don’t think any points will be deducted for just missing the 2 million viewer mark. These are good enough numbers to get another season. For now, Bravo will hope that the reunion episodes draw in a few more casual former fans.

4. Homeland (1.896 million 0.6)- This is a very strong finish for a show that is guaranteed to stick around for at least two more seasons.

5. Real Housewives of New York City (1.267 million 0.4)- Last season made you think that Bravo finally found the trick to making this show work. This premiere is certainly not a reflection of that momentum in terms of ratings. The good news is that there will be plenty of time for the show to get back on track.

6. Hip Hop Squares (Episode 11: 1.817 million 0.9, Finale: 1.540 million 0.8)- This show will be back for a jumbo sized 20 episodes for season 2. I guess it is certainly cheap enough to do more episodes, but I can’t help but think that this show will not do as well if it is paired behind another show. The retention from Love & Hip Hop Atlanta could have been a better than it was.

7. Vanderpump Rules (1.262 million 0.6)- Strangely enough, the spinoff of a spinoff, of a spinoff is getting a spinoff. Got all that? Probably not, but yeah, two people on this show are getting their own miniseries. If it does well, we know Bravo will be kind about doing more episodes. Whatever happens shouldn’t affect this show. I expect it to return.

8. DC’s Legends of Tomorrow (2.152 million 0.7)- The CW is a hard network to predict. They have gone the last 3 seasons with only canceling a handful of shows. They have also fallen in love with the batch renewal strategy. It makes you wonder how long they can sustain this because this DC block isn’t going to go into next season being as solid as everyone thinks.

9. Keeping Up with the Kardashians (1.261 million 0.6)- I’m still not on the train of believing this show is on its deathbed. I can’t believe it when they are still ordering new spinoffs. They will hold on to this franchise until there is literally nothing left but tumbleweeds.

10. The Breaks (961,000 0.5)- The thoughts I shared last week remain unchanged and these finale numbers don’t help the show’s case. I think I would be surprised if this managed to earn a renewal because VH1 is acting like they want to be done with the show and move on.
