10 Ratings Blurbs: 5/10/16 Edition

There are a few finales here. I expect the even more to come over the next 2 weeks.

1. Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (1.677 million 0.6)- I don’t get the point of 3 part reunions. I know basically only 2 networks do it and only with specific shows, but it’s too much. The reunions should try to make one last major impact to keep viewers on edge until next season.

2. Dance Moms (1.414 million 0.5)- This show tends to air straight through for 5 months every season. Strangely enough, I don’t think the fans think the seasons are too long because you don’t see viewer fatigue setting in at any point in the season.

3. Project Runway All Stars (1.488 million 0.4)- Not the strongest season for the show, but it has done well enough to earn another season in my opinion.

4. Dear Mama (1.032 million 0.4)- This is about where I expected the special to perform. Every special with some help from Love & Hip Hop is good for no more than 1.2 million viewers. Specials without the help see much lower ratings and this is why VH1 made that move.

5. Little Women NY (1.154 million 0.4)- These ratings are really nothing to write about. They are okay and they fall right in line with other numbers from this franchise.

6. The Challenge: Rivals 3 (656,000 0.4)- I specifically remember both Rivals seasons having much better numbers than this. This isn’t a great premiere, but there’s still plenty of time to turn things around.

7. Black Ink Crew (2.197 million 1.2)- The absence of a new episode of Love & Hip Hop Atlanta did not hurt this show one bit. Good to see a show standing on its own for once.

8. Elementary (5.458 million 0.7)- If it makes the fall schedule, it is definitely not moving from 10pm Sundays. I don’t see why it would. There is no way CBS would sacrifice a new show on a day where half of those fall weeks will be pre-empted by football for at least an hour. I know they need one more show to throw on Sundays, but I don’t see a full overhaul for the fall and I think that’s why they stuck with this show.

9. Livin’ Lozada (342,000 0.1)- I didn’t think it was weird for OWN to order more episodes for this show. Technically, these episodes are an extension of season 1. These numbers are lower than the first half of the season but I don’t think they are worrisome because For Peete’s Sake isn’t doing that much better, this show airs on Saturday nights and OWN is one of the rare cable networks where reality shows have a much lower renewal threshold than scripted shows.

10. Ridiculousness (298,000 0.1)- I have to believe that MTV just threw this special together and didn’t bother to promote it. Usually, even the most random episode can draw 500k viewers. I guess this means the show will be returning soon. I haven’t bothered to check.
