10 Ratings Blurbs: 1/26/16 Edition

There are several DC and Marvel related shows and a couple of VH1 premieres on the list this week.

1. The Flash (3.407 million 1.3)- Most of The CW shows had decent returns over the last week. This show was no different. I don’t expect the show to slide much, if at all, because this is already at normal ratings levels.

2. Stevie J & Joseline Go Hollywood (2.559 million 1.3)- I’ll admit that this did a little bit better than I thought and its retention of Love & Hip Hop viewers was strong. It’s a great start. We’ll see where it goes from here.

3. DC’s Legends of Tomorrow (3.214 million 1.2)- These numbers came in right between the current numbers for The Flash and Arrow. That means it is a good start for the show and The CW will have no worries as long as the numbers manage to stay strong for the rest of the season.

4. K. Michelle: My Life (2.253 million 1.2)- This isn’t very far off from last season’s premiere and I had to look that up (it aired for 6 weeks at the end of 2014). Seems like VH1 is going for the highly ambitious move to air 4 shows on Monday nights. With all of the shows they have for Mondays, they are going to need every bit of those 3 primetime hours.

5. Arrow (2.829 million 1.1)- This is a decent return for the show. It is up a little bit over the fall episodes and I guess it will probably dip back to average levels (which is a 0.9-1.0 demo for the show).

6. American Idol (Wednesday: 9.223 million 2.4; Thursday: 9.363 million 2.4)- I put this here because I was already forced to repeat a show from last week on this list and I didn’t want to do it with another. This is doing about as well as FOX can expect it to do, but they probably wish they had more episodes of Empire to work with so they could bring that back sooner.

7. Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars (863,000 0.4)- This is one of the higher rated episodes for this season. The show is already renewed for season 5 so ratings aren’t much of a concern here. I am getting to the point where perhaps it will take smart casting to push the ratings back to the first season of this reality star version’s levels.

8. Supernatural (1.829 million 0.7)- This show had a couple of rough patches in the fall and I’m of the mindset that the same will happen for this half of the season. Even if that happens, this is still an above-average show for The CW.

9. Marvel’s Agent Carter (3.137 million 0.9)- There were three shows that ABC renewed last year that probably shouldn’t have been renewed. This is one of them. Unless they planned for those shows to just be the sacrificial lambs to get through that weird stretch between January and March where they are stuck going against sports, political programs and award shows, then good for them. If that wasn’t the plan, I don’t know what the hell they were thinking.

10. Hell’s Kitchen 3.613 million 1.3)- This is back on the list not because of ratings, but because Fox decided to move this to Wednesdays beginning tomorrow. Now this isn’t a move to help this show (though I would imagine that ratings would improve a little being placed behind American Idol). This move was done because FOX is done with Second Chance and they want to burn that show off on Fridays instead of outright canceling it.
