10 Ratings Blurbs 8/13/13 Edition

If you haven't yet you can go read my recap for this episode of Breaking Bad. There's also a True Blood recap and there will be a Bad Girls Club recap coming sometime tonight or tomorrow. Anyway that's my reason for not posting too much around here anymore.

1. Breaking Bad (5.915 million 2.9)- AMC needed a payoff for the strategy they took for splitting the final season up in 2 parts and making people wait a year to see the whole second half. So the buzz is here and it just may be one of those things where this show doesn’t fall off that much because people know it’s all over in 7 weeks.

2. Devious Maids (2.663 million 0.9)- I think this is down a little bit from last week but that honestly doesn’t matter too much. This only got a spot here on this post because it got renewed for a 13 episode season 2 today.

3. Drop Dead Diva (2.459 million 0.8)- There’s nothing more that I can say about this that I didn’t already say a couple of days ago. The numbers improved a little for the finale and it’s now time to wait and see what happens.

4. Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta (4.126 million 2.2)- I’m sure there are heavy sighs around the VH1 offices today, not because of these numbers (because they are great) but because this is the last time this year that they will see numbers like this (Actually this is the last time they will see numbers like this until this show comes back and 5-6 months is a little optimistic for a return unless they get desperate).

5. America’s Got Talent (Tuesday- 9.37 million 2.5; Wednesday- 10.26 million 2.5)- The ratings aren’t much to write about this summer. They aren’t bad but they aren’t spectacular either. They are just decent. Still I think it’s refreshing that we have a talent show on and the judges aren’t stealing the headlines surrounding this show. That’s how they are all supposed to be.

6. Dexter (1.904 million 0.9)- Week 2 of the blackout might have suppressed the numbers a little but I think Breaking Bad is responsible for this slipping under 2 million as well. So it’s just one not so great week but what can you do? 9pm Sundays is probably the most brutal hour on TV especially for cable shows.

7. Real Housewives of Miami (1.359 million 0.6)- All things considering losing 600k viewers from its lead in is not so bad but if this is the best it can do then things are going to start looking mighty ugly again 3 weeks from now.

8. Ridiculousness (1.447 million 0.8)- These numbers are ok and I assume that is all that MTV ever wanted. This is why Rob Dyrdek will one day be able to retire having made a good majority of his fortune solely from MTV because this man stays on their payroll.

9. Miss U Much (181,000 0.1)- After an ok for Friday start this show has tumbled right back down to where every other Friday show has been this year. It's unsatisfying simply because these numbers come in on Monday and with Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta now over, their Tuesdays won’t be sunny enough to outshine this anymore.

10. Breaking Amish: LA (2.030 million 0.9)- I’m not seeing much around about the general attitude towards this show. The hype around this show appears to have died as well but I’ll have you know that these numbers are in the exact same area as Here Comes Honey Boo Boo so you can’t say that this show is turning in a disappointing performance.
