10 Ratings Blurbs: 4/19/16 Edition

The TV season is winding down and that means the ratings will continue to look like one giant wasteland.

1. Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (1.978 million 0.7)- These ratings haven’t fluctuated all that much for several seasons. For a veteran show, that’s all you can ask for. Bravo doesn’t need another Real Housewives show to expose cracks in the foundation. This show has done well enough to return and I fully expect it to return.

2. Better Call Saul (2.263 million 0.9)- It was obvious after the first season that AMC wasn’t expecting this to be a huge show. It is a very solid performer and I think the network is being smart about not trying to do the whole 16 episode split season thing here.

3. Fear the Walking Dead (5.581 million 2.5)- In unsurprising news, AMC went ahead and renewed this show for season 3. The only reason why I don’t think the announcement is too early is because their ratings floor is really low.

4. Real Housewives of Potomac (1.391 million 0.6)- Bravo went ahead and made the season 2 renewal official last week. I would be interested to see how they schedule this show next season. If they try to prop it up behind Real Housewives of Atlanta for another year (or a half a season), then maybe it can find stable fan base. If they decide to treat it like the other Real Housewives shows and force it to anchor a night, I’m not sure you get a sizeable difference between these numbers and the Dallas and New York versions.

5. Supergirl (6.109 million 1.3)- If CBS decides to renew this show, they absolutely have to change the timeslot. I’m not sure what timeslot would be best since they don’t want to program this show against any of The CW DC dramas. Maybe an hour earlier could work for them.

6. Project Runway All Stars (1.376 million 0.3)- The demos are so sorry for these Lifetime reality shows. I don’t know what makes older viewers gravitate towards these reality shows over other reality shows. I guess it’s a mystery that will never be solved. The total viewers are still decent.

7. Catfish: The TV Show (980,000 0.5)- This show is trying to come around, but I won’t buy into that just yet. It could have just been a hyped episode or viewers might have finally realized that the show has returned. Wednesdays are not that competitive.

8. The Americans (885,000 0.3)- It’s hard to know if FX is pleased with these ratings. We all know people will watch their dramas with enough buzz (or if it has Ryan Murphy’s name attached to it). It’s a head-scratcher as to why people seem to ignore almost everything else.

9. Real Housewives of Dallas (920,000 0.4)- I don’t like to repeat shows for two weeks in a row, but these numbers better not drop anymore. This show cannot afford to keep shedding viewers.

10. Real World: Go Big or Go Home (445,000 0.3)- There is absolutely no reason at all that explains why this isn’t on Wednesdays. Fans are used to the show airing then. I know Catfish is there, but they can air this at 9 and leave Catfish at 10. It’s not like there is a huge demand for this show to have an aftershow anyway.
