10 Ratings Blurbs: 11/8/16 Edition

Reunion week it seems. Only reason why I used a picture for a show that I actually don't talk about this week. If the list seems rushed, it's because the political junkie in me wants to go cook dinner so I can watch election returns in peace.

1. Real Housewives of Atlanta (2.587 million 1.1)- From a Bravo perspective, this is a strong premiere. For this show, it is a little weak, but not alarming. Returning Real Housewives shows (except NYC) have all seen ratings declines this year. It is far too early to make that declaration here.

2. The Walking Dead (11.721 million 5.7)- Though this lost a chunk of viewers, I see nothing to panic about because it will still be the highest rated scripted show of the week.

3. Little Women: LA (1.225 million 0.4)- These numbers are off from the series highs the show experienced weeks ago. More competition elsewhere may have pushed down the numbers, but the reunion may offer an opportunity to get back to stronger territory.

4. Married to Medicine (1.657 million 0.7)- These numbers appear to look disappointing because it lost so many viewers from RHOA and the RHONJ reunion that aired after this managed to get better numbers.

5. Keeping Up with the Kardashians (1.116 million 0.5)- Most networks try not to put their top rated show against The Walking Dead. This network honestly doesn’t have other options. The show can do better, but these aren’t the worst numbers given the circumstances.

6. Vanderpump Rules (1.438 million 0.6)- I see perfectly normal numbers here for this premiere. Wish I could say more, but that would be unnecessary.

7. Little Women: Dallas (959,000 0.4)- This is a bit low for a premiere in this franchise. Time is definitely on this show’s side and the numbers don’t have to move much to get into acceptable territory.

8. Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party (1.679 million 0.9)- VH1 has had a history of trying to stuff Monday nights in the last couple of years to capitalize on the one night of good ratings that they have. Usually, the third show in line is the one that suffers. I’m not saying that it can’t happen with this show, but these are surprisingly good premiere numbers. Now, we have to see if viewers will return because this show won't have a lot of time to build a case for renewal.

9. Gotham (3.519 million 1.2)- This hasn’t had a great ratings start so far. Fortunately, for this show, most FOX shows haven’t performed well. The numbers have been stable and that has given the network no immediate worries about this show (they did announce last week that this will have another long winter hiatus this season).

10. Masters of Sex (463,000 0.1)- This show manages to have ratings swings of 50-100k viewers almost weekly. The difference looks so large because the numbers are tiny, but the demo remains virtually unchanged for the same reason.
