After a month off this post is back but I won't make any promises about it being better than ever. To be honest it felt a little strange writing this post because only a couple of these shows have been on my radar in terms of ratings.

There are some redos on here from the past 2 months but for the most part this month mostly features freshman shows. I find first season shows to be much more interesting to write on because it gets stale writing on older shows with established fanbases.

A new year means a new crop of shows with very limited information to go on. Like last January's post I will be spending it doing a blind predictions post. I chose 10 shows that premiered within the last 10 days and made predictions on the 1-3 episodes that have aired for those shows in that time. Following the formula of last year's post, none of these shows will have a prediction lower than 30% (though no show on this list has a prediction lower than 40%) and no show on this list will have a prediction higher than 70%.

This might as well be the Bravo list because that's what a good majority of these shows are. I think next month I will do a repeat of what I did last January and pick 10 shows that have only aired 1-2 episodes and give predictions based on that. I'll see how it goes but for now here's the last prediction post for the year.

Every time I take a month off from this I feel lost and scrambling to keep track of what I've written. This month is no different because I'm aware that I will end up redoing quite a few of these predictions. Most are because December is a month with very few premieres but that's the way it is and I just have to accept it.

I’ve been at this for about 18 months now. I did a post very similar to this one a year ago but because it had only been 6 months at the time I just did a straight list without tallying how many predictions I actually got right or wrong. Since there aren’t 10 shows that I can get to make predictions on this month (A horrible combination of shows with spotted ratings info and too many brand new shows made this possible) I’m just going to do another list of the shows I did my predictions on in the last 12 months and see where I’m at with how I’ve been doing.

It was not a very easy task to try to find 10 shows this month but I managed to pull something together and take a couple of risks as well.

If I remember correctly from last year, August and September are 2 of the 3 worst months with me trying to make this post. I was able to find 10 shows to talk about this month but it may be a challenge for next month because so far I'm not seeing very many cable shows coming along in the next 4 weeks.

If it isn't one thing getting delayed around here it's another. Luckily the weekly ratings are only delayed because of last week's holiday and should be up sometime later today. In the meantime there's these shows to mull over. Can't say there are too many fan favorites in this crop but I suppose that's mainly because there are several freshman shows here.

Better late than never with this I suppose. I typed this all up the day before I intended to post it so the numbers mentioned only go up to June 9th. I haven't changed anything that I typed from that day but if I were to say that anything has changed then I would improve the chances of the #2 show on this list and lower the chances of the #9 show. Every other show in my opinion has remained the same in my eyes in their chances of getting renewed or canceled.

This post was extremely close to not happening because I forgot that today was the 10th. Fortunately I was able to scrape together 10 shows that I already knew I had some general opinions on so while this month's post might be a little light on details there should still be enough to satisfy or agitate your curiosity.

Of course there's always old posts to look back on (including an update I made just yesterday to the one of those old posts from either last May or June).

It was my original intention to do a normal post this month but 2 things kept that from happening. The first thing is that a lot of the shows I wanted to write on have either just ended or are far too new to make a prediction on. The second thing is that quite a few of the other shows I wanted to write on (Bates Motel, Vikings and The Americans) have already been renewed.

Since the vast majority of the list would have been 100% blind predictions plus the fact that there aren’t really 10 eligible shows to write on I figured I would just use this month as a retrospective post. So what I’m going to do here is pick 10 shows I wrote on over the last year (3, renewed, 3 canceled, 3 tossups that have been renewed, canceled or both and 1 still undecided show. Statuses will be reflected in the post by the colors in this comment) that I feel made the greatest impact on how I go about writing these posts every month.

I wasn’t very impressed with the crop of shows I ended up picking this month. Maybe the shows suck or maybe I’m just very moody but as you can tell I am quite pessimistic this month compared to previous months (Maybe that’s just what I need to do around here though).

Certainly it's that time again and now that things are back to normal in the cable TV world I think I was able to pull together a good array of shows to talk about so you can either check those out, glance at previous predictions or look at the most recent scorecard.

Last month with all the shows that were ending their seasons I wondered if I would be able to find 10 shows airing more than 3 episodes that hadn’t already been decided on. Needless to say the answer was no. I had 3 shows but that wouldn’t have made an interesting post because I think all 3 will be renewed (for the record those 3 shows are Real Housewives of Atlanta, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Shahs of Sunset).

It might have taken 2 redos but somehow there are 10 shows on this list. Now I have to figure out what kind of trickery I can do to get 10 shows on next month's list because right now I only have 2 in mind (and they would have been on this month's list if I hadn't thought ahead). Anyway you can see the list for previous months here (IIRC the June post is almost 100% updated. There may be only 1 or 2 shows that don't have a final decision attached to them).

It does not really matter that I'm up at 6am posting this. What does matter is that I have a lot to say this month and now I get to have my Saturday to myself. Don't forget to check out predictions of past months because I've made some updates since last month.

Here it is. The October list with 8 new shows and 2 older ones that really begged to be redone (I only choose to redo predictions if the ratings have changed enough to make me feel that something really needs to be said. If a show gets a little better or worse and I'm not compelled to say anything or the show ends before the new list comes around I'm more likely to just let what I said before stand). I thought about doing a list like this in some form for some time now but I wasn’t quite sure how to do it at first. I thought about doing it in a way that would somehow evaluate my predictions but it wouldn’t be right to do it that way because there aren’t enough shows that have been canceled yet to get a true sense of how my predictions turned out.

I’ve been neglecting this site lately and as much as I say I want to do better with it I’m finding that I choose not to because I am bored with it. Since walking away is not an option, I’ve just decided that I’m going to organize things around here in the hopes that doing so will compel me to start posting more again. Consider this post as me noting all the changes and updates that I have done or are going to do within the next few weeks.
