10 Ratings Blurbs 1/23/13 Edition

The good thing about this time of year is that I can pick out a bunch of shows and just write on them without having to wait on 1-2 other shows. [Full List Here]

1. Once Upon a Time (7.68 million 2.4)- You would think ABC would learn their lesson about airing shows against big events but they haven’t and I’m highly skeptical that they will avoid doing this next year as well.

2. Bad Girls Club: Atlanta (1.616 million 0.7)- For a start this is pretty good. Now the only thing that needs to be discovered is if this is going to be a season where the ratings slowly rise or if they stay in the same general area the whole season.

3. Making Mr. Right (196,000 0.1)- This is the result from the first Wednesday episode and these numbers are horrendous. It was obvious from the first episode but now this is really a dead show walking and I won't be surprised if VH1 moves this again.

4. Mob Wives 3 (1.075 million 0.6)- I'm not insinuating that this show is in any kind of danger just yet but these numbers are disappointing for VH1. I know they expected more but the show has probably run its course (however their troubles on Sunday is the biggest thing working in this show's favor and as long as they can't find a show that equals or exceeds this show's numbers on Sunday then they have no choice but to keep this show).

5. Total Blackout (1.134 million 0.6)- I don't think Syfy knows how to feel about this show. The ratings for the first few episodes say it's a decent performer but the rest range from meh to borderline flop. As such they continue to not know what to do with it but as long as it keeps doing equal to or better than some of their scripted performers then they will try to find a place for it until they get tired of it.

6. American Idol (Wednesday: 17.95 million 6.0; Thursday: 16.28 million 5.6)- No this isn't the death star it once was and the gimmicks offer no residual boost to the show but This is still FOX's highest rated show and it will continue to get treated as such even though some people are already preparing the eulogies for it.

7. Project Runway All Stars (1.554 million 0.4)- Personally I think Lifetime would be wasting their time by renewing this show. Project Runway isn't the reality powerhouse it once was.

8. Kourtney & Kim Take Miami (Sunday: 2.161 million 1.1; Monday: 1.543 million 0.7)- The main show seems to have its own ratings range and the spinoffs all have another range. This is in the spinoff range so there's not much that needs to be analyzed here.

9. Deception (3.61 million 1.3)- In a matter of 3 weeks this show went from the low end of ok territory to dead show walking territory. NBC will probably hold their noses until March but they won't if this show keeps playing the "How Low Can You Go?" game.

10. Anger Management (Premiere: 1.818 million 0.7; Episode 2: 1.661 million 0.8)- I've said this before and I've said this again. I don't know how Charlie Sheen managed to scam FX into producing 100 episodes of a show off of just the basis name recognition.
